Harding Evans are pleased to announce the launch of a Pro Bono Clinic, to support the families of Welsh children’s hospice, Ty Hafan.

The clinic, set up in partnership with LawWorks, will allow families to access legal advice surrounding such matters as welfare benefits, NHS decisions regarding treatment availability and funding, housing issues, challenges to public authority decisions and guardianship.

Speaking at the launch of the clinic, Suzy McGarrity, Engagement and Training Officer (Wales) at LawWorks, said “we’re delighted to have been involved in the set up of this clinic, and very grateful to the team at Harding Evans for their ongoing dedication to the project. We know that the availability of this advice will make such a huge difference in the lives of families with children at Ty Hafan.”

Craig Court, head of Public Law & Private Litigation at Harding Evans, added “I am delighted that we have been able to get this clinic up and running and would like to thank the team at LawWorks for asking us to be involved. I have always ranked pro-bono work with huge importance and being able to help families of Ty Hafan, who are already dealing with so much, makes me feel incredibly proud.”

The clinic is exclusively for families of children who have a life-shortening condition, who are supported by Ty Hafan and will take place once a month.
