Clinical Negligence

Welcome back Settor!

We are delighted to welcome Settor Tengey back to Harding Evans after almost ten years.

Settor re-joined Harding Evans as a Partner in our Clinical Negligence team in December 2023, having completed his training contract with the firm in 2014. Upon qualifying, he moved to Bristol and worked at a large national firm of solicitors where he specialised in clinical negligence claims.

Following his return to South Wales in 2017, Settor worked for Legal and Risk at NHS Wales Shared Services where he dealt with all aspects of clinical negligence claims on behalf of Welsh health bodies, as well as providing training on all aspects of medical law to clinicians.

Settor’s role here at HE will be to provide legal advice to claimants who have unfortunately suffered injuries as a result of negligent treatment. Settor advises in respect of a wide range of claims, including those of the highest value and significant complexity.

Settor is also responsible for managing and supervising junior solicitors and paralegals within the department, and in his spare time enjoys playing tennis and football – but says it is most likely you will find him chasing after his two children in one of the many soft play centres in Cardiff.

On why he wanted to re-join HE, Settor said: “It is a firm that I know well having trained here over 10 years ago. It has an excellent reputation generally, and the clinical negligence department in particular is one of the biggest and most well-regarded in Wales.

“There is a wealth of experience in the team and it has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of Ken Thomas. The philosophy of going above and beyond for clients is one that really resonates with me and so with all this in mind, when the possibility to return as a Partner presented itself it was an opportunity that I could not pass up.”

Welcome back Settor!
