Ken is an Equity Partner at Harding Evans and heads up our renowned Clinical Negligence team. He has been an AVMA Panel Member since 1999 and has previously been voted Welsh lawyer of the year.
Ken has acted on clinical negligence cases for over 30 years. Throughout that time, Ken has acted exclusively for claimants, one of the few solicitors in the region to truly do so. Ken has obtained approximately £30 million in compensation for his clients. He is a member of SCOPE and maintains a multi-million-pound case load of complex claims including fatal injury and brain damage cases. In 2006, Ken obtained APIL Senior Litigator status, and in 2012 became one of the country’s first APIL Clinical Negligence accredited specialists and an Assessor for new applicants.
Ken was very closely involved in the Welsh Government’s ground-breaking “Putting Things Right” scheme for resolving NHS concerns. This was introduced in 2011 and provided for the Welsh Government to pay fixed fees for legal advice for accredited specialist firms where the claim is against a Welsh NHS body. The Westminster Government is, of course, consulting on fixed fees at the present time.
Over a ten-year period, Ken wrote a monthly medico-legal column for a local paper and a regular column for the Western Mail (the national newspaper of Wales). Likewise, he has taken part in BBC Wales programs (both TV and radio) is repeatedly consulted by national media sources for comment, and has been asked to contribute to a Legal Journal on Clinical Negligence topics.
Ken is ranked in both the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 legal directories.
