Introducing our NEW Partners: Danielle Howell

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of four new partners within the firm, as we continue to grow and strengthen our team. Over the next few weeks, we've taken the time to find out a little more about each of our new appointees, from their journey to #TeamHE to the advice they'd give to someone looking to carve out a career in law.

In the last of our blog series, we find out a little more about Danielle Howell, newly appointed Partner in our ever-growing Clinical Negligence team!

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I completed my law degree at Swansea University and my Legal Practice Course at Cardiff Law School, before joining Harding Evans in November 2014.

Outside of work I enjoy fitness dance classes, family karaoke nights and countryside adventures with my two little Dachshunds!

What was it that attracted you to a career in law?

When I was a child, my Grandfather would watch “Rumpole of the Bailey” religiously on television and the Courtroom drama sparked my interest in the legal system. On completion of my A-levels, I was keen to study law at University and this nurtured my curiosity.

Do you have a career highlight?

There are a few cases that come to mind purely because of the wonderful clients I represent and the strength and perseverance they demonstrate, despite being put in very difficult positions medically.

I feel proud of any fantastic outcomes we are able to achieve for clients as this can really make a difference to the quality of their lives in the future.

Describe a typical day as a Partner in the Clinical Negligence team…

My role as a case handler involves progressing my cases, updating my clients, liaising with defendant representatives and attending court hearings. In addition to this, I contribute to the operation of the department in supervision of other members of the team and designated firm project work.

What attracted you to Harding Evans?

Harding Evans has an unwavering reputation and I was delighted to be appointed as an assistant solicitor when I started my journey with Harding Evans in 2014.

From the very first day, I have felt supported in my career progression and I am proud to have been appointed as a Partner.

What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a career similar to your own?

Allocate appropriate time to study when at University and prepare well for legal exams. Don’t be put off if you don’t succeed the first time round, keep trying and stay committed!
