Janice Powell

Head of Contentious Probate

Janice is the Head of the Contentious Probate practice at Harding Evans, having joined the firm in April 2026.

A highly experienced litigation specialist, having headed commercial litigation and dispute resolution teams at prominent firms in Cardiff and London, Janice specialises in contentious probate issues, including Inheritance Act claims, trust disputes, property disputes, professional negligence, contractual, and company disputes. She has extensive experience of High Court and County Court proceedings, together with mediation, arbitration, adjudication and other alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Janice is a member of ACTAPS, the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.

Outside of the law, Janice enjoys cultural and heritage visits, hiking, long walks on the beach and running. She is also an afficionado of the karaoke machine, where her specialty is the Abba and 1970s disco back catalogue!
