After a person dies, their assets and affairs will need to be dealt with in accordance with the terms of their Will or the Intestacy Rules that are applied when a person dies intestate i.e. without leaving a Will.
- Disputing a will
If you feel that a relative or loved one has not made adequate provision for you under the terms of their Will or the Intestacy Rules, you may be able to make a claim on their Estate, and our Dispute Resolution department would be able to assist in those circumstances.
- The Court of Protection -
In the event that a person loses the ability to manage their affairs, perhaps due to an accident or sudden illness, and they have not previously granted an EPA or LPA, then a person will need to be appointed by the Court of Protection to handle their financial and personal affairs. This person is referred to as a Deputy.
We are able to act in connection with the appointment of Deputies and, if there is nobody suitable to act for you then the Head of Department, Mr David Morgan, is on the panel of Court of Protection approved Deputies and would be able to assume the role.
