Newport’s determined drive to ‘re-invent’ itself isn’t only attracting an influx of external investors, intent on transforming the urban landscape. The enterprising spirit of the city’s £600m regeneration programme is also doing much to fuel the growth ambitions of leading companies already established there. Prominent among this vibrant new wave is law firm Harding Evans.

Today there are more than 120 staff as the firm moves quickly to meet changing client demands in the local and regional economy. It recently increased its partnership from 8 to 11, and plans to expand this further to 18 by 2010. Total staff numbers by that stage are expected to reach more than 200.

Harding Evans has responded to changing patterns of market demand by developing a wide spectrum of specialist disciplines, for both private and commercial clients. There are now more than 20 distinct areas of the law delivered under one roof at the firm’s Newport city centre base.

We recognise that, as we grow, we also need to make full use of the benefits new technology can bring, and as a result we are currently scanning all documents to be available electronically. As a Scanning Assistant you will play in important role in organising the transition of our files into an electronic format, ensuring all files are recorded and organised appropriately. In addition you will be required provide administrative support to the Administration Section helping to ensure the effective running of the Firm. This may include Reception cover, Post duties and general administration duties.

To be successful in this role you will have:

o Strong administrative and organisational skills
o The ability to pay attention to detail.
o Good keyboarding skills and the ability to use a range of software
o The ability to be flexible and manage several pieces of work simultaneously.
o Good verbal and written communication skills.
o The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
