| When people hear "Social" and "Yachting" in the same sentence, visions of crusty old salts in a smoke filled room come to mind. Far from it! The social activities of the Yachting Section are designed to get members to mingle and have fun, for old and young. Even more traditional events, such as the Commodore's Sail Past, are lots of fun with a barbeque, live band and dancing. One of the Club's most popular events is Awards Night - the antics of the presenters doling out precious awards such as the Bent Prop, has to be seen to be believed. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are organized Dock Parties and Pub Nights; the latter featuring everything from guest speakers to the annual Nautical Trivia Night.
