Newport law firm Harding Evans has appointed a new
Senior Partner following the retirement of Bill Morris.
Mike Sage will take over the role on 1st April and is looking
forward to the challenge. He comments “Bill has done a tremendous
job as Senior Partner over the years and all the partners and staff
wish him a very happy retirement”.

recent years and has a reputation as one of the leading firms in
South Wales and I am looking forward, along with my fellow Partners,
to taking the firm into our next stage of expansion”.
Mike is head of Harding Evans’ criminal department which has been
recommended in several guides to the UK legal profession. The 2005
Chamber Guide describes his department as Newport’s leading criminal
practice.
Before joining Harding Evans Mike used to be a prosecutor in London
and moved to Usk when he joined the firm. He is a keen golfer and
takes part in various charity and business golf days.
Outgoing Senior Partner Bill Morris, who enjoyed a successful rugby
career playing for Newport and Wales before entering the legal
profession, said “My congratulations go to Mike on his appointment
and I hope he enjoys the role as much as I have done. I would like
to thank all our staff for helping to make Harding Evans the leading
and highly regarded firm that it is today”.
Bill ends his career on a high as during his tenure as Senior
Partner he has seen an increase in staff across all areas of the
firm as well as gaining the Investors in People accreditation and
winning the prestigious Welsh Law Firm of the Year award.
