The first of four legal roadshows organised by the South Wales Argus and award winning Harding Evans Solicitors took place in Maindee last week with a large number of people turning up to get free and confidential legal advice.

Three specialist solicitors were on hand to offer advice on a range of queries including making a will, divorce, boundary disputes as well as a dispute with a council to name a few.

The legal team spoke to one person who had been injured as a result of an accident and wanted advice on making a claim for compensation. The person was given expert advice and was put in touch with one of Harding Evans’ specialist personal injury lawyers, who are highly regarded and have helped clients win millions of pounds of compensation over the years.

The solicitors from Harding Evans were busy all evening and spoke to another person who wanted advice regarding money which had been wrongly taken out of his account by a utility company. He was advised that it would not be cost effective to take legal action due to the amount of money involved and would be better to contact the relevant Ombudsman who would investigate his complaint and has the authority to resolve disputes.

During the evening one of the solicitors also advised a person regarding an insurance policy and following an accident, his insurance company did not pay out. He was given expert advice as well as the options available which included taking legal action against the company.

Over the next few weeks the roadshows will be visiting Bassaleg, Caerleon and St Julians in the Argus mobile unit and solicitors will be available at each venue to offer free initial legal advice from 6 – 8pm. The next roadshow will take place on Wednesday 16th June outside the shops at Laurel Drive in Bassaleg.
