Fast-expanding South Wales legal practice, Harding Evans, has
strengthened its commercial property team with two key appointments
in order to handle a growing workload from its regional and national
clients.
The firm has recruited experienced property specialists David
Sheppard as an associate and Vaughn Day as a solicitor for the
expanding department.
David, who worked for the high-profile West Country law firm,
Battens, originally practised as a chartered valuation surveyor
before becoming a solicitor. He has previously worked for the
leading national firms of surveyors Hillier Parker and Debenham
Tewson. Clients will now be able to benefit from David’s specialist
skills, particularly with all the regeneration taking place in South
Wales.
Vaughn originally worked in the public sector and then moved to
Eversheds. She joined Harding Evans because she was attracted by its
reputation locally and regionally as well as the quality of work.
Harding Evans’ commercial property department has seen its client
base grow significantly as the firm’s home city of Newport undergoes
a £1 billion regeneration and the region generally experiences a
relative boom in property development.
Mike Jenkins, partner and head of commercial property said: “This is
an exciting time to be involved in the property market in Newport
and South Wales. We are very pleased to have secured the services of
lawyers with the experience and calibre of David and Vaughn.”
Their arrival further enhances the firms capacity to serve property
clients of all sizes by delivering a high quality and client-focused
service. The department’s clients includes investors, developers,
finance providers, property owners and tenants.
The expansion of the commercial property department reflects the
overall growth of Harding Evans, the largest law firm in Gwent and
currently eighth largest in Wales. It recently increased its team of
partners from eight to 11 and, within four years, expects to have 18
partners and a staff of over 200 to service their clients needs.
