Recently crowned Welsh Law Firm of the Year Harding Evans is
celebrating another success having been awarded the prestigious
Investor in People Standard.
The Newport based firm, which has a staff of nearly 120, embarked on
the accreditation in 2003 and gained recognition in 2004.
The Standard is awarded to companies who
recognize the importance of the contribution of their workforce and
who can also demonstrate investment in staff development.
Partner John Allison is responsible for Investors in People at
Harding Evans and comments “We have always recognized that our
success has been attributable to the people we employ and every
member of staff has contributed to gaining the accreditation”
Over the years the firm has developed, updated and refined a whole
range of initiatives and procedures including, to name but a few, a
comprehensive staff appraisal process, a training plan, a staff
development plan, appointing a dedicated Personnel Manager, an
internal communications programme, regular departmental meetings and
appointing a staff representative.
The firm has also made a substantial investment in IT including
digital dictation which was recently rolled out across the firm.
Amanda Lane, Personnel Manager of Harding Evans says “To be awarded
our Investor in People accreditation is a real milestone for the
firm and we are already beginning to see the benefits”.
