Harding Evans is a well established regional law firm which delivers a specialist range of legal services to commercial and private clients. We have over 100 staff including 11 Partners and 49 fee earners.

Based in Newport, South Wales we have expanded significantly in recent years to become the largest firm in Gwent and the 8th largest in Wales, competing directly with the larger Cardiff firms.
In 2005 Harding Evans won the Award for Outstanding Achievement at the high profile Five Counties Business Awards and in 2004 we were crowned Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious Welsh Law Awards, ahead of strong Cardiff competition.

 

In 2003 we won Business of the Year at the Five Counties Business Awards and medical negligence specialist Ken Thomas was named Lawyer of the Year at the Welsh Law Awards.

Our employment department has been awarded an exclusive contract from the Legal Services Commission to provide eligible legal organisations in Gwent and Dyfed Powys with employment law advice and support. Harding Evans also holds Specialist Help Quality Marks for 10 of its services and is one of only a few firms in Wales to hold and maintain such a high number of Quality Marks.

We have significantly increased our profile as a leading firm in Wales as a result of winning a number of awards as well as through consistent media coverage, several high profile seminars and a number of other marketing led initiatives.

We are the only firm in Gwent in the top 10 law firms in Wales and our objective is to continue to enhance our profile as a commercial firm, as well as continuing to deliver high quality legal services to our private client base.

image - Commercial Litigation Commercial Litigation - the commercial litigation team are involved in many high profile litigation matters and offers expertise across the spectrum of litigation issues.
image - Debt Recovery Debt Recovery - the firm delivers a dedicated and professional service and has acted successfully for many local and national businesses.
image - Business Immigration Business Immigration – we have a specialist immigration team which handles all aspects of business immigration including securing work permits.
image - Corporate Crime Corporate crime – Harding Evans regularly represent the business community when it comes into contact with the criminal justice system including defending health and safety, environmental waste and noise nuisance prosecutions as well as fraud investigations.
image - Agricultural Law Agricultural law - the firm advises clients on a range of issues including farm sales, farm business tenancies, quota transfers, option agreements, sales of development land, barn conversions and inheritance tax planning.

Private
image - Residential Property Residential Property - InHouse is the residential property division of Harding Evans and delivers a professional service including dealing with sales, purchases, remortgages, right to buy, transfer of equity and buying Spanish property. We can deal with any matter arising from a property transaction.
image - Civil Litigation Civil Litigation - our highly regarded litigation team have vast experience and a successful track record across the full range of litigation issues.
image - Family & Matrimonial Family & Matrimonial – the department boasts solicitors who are recognised as leaders in their field who undertake a wide range of work including separation and divorce, injunctions, care proceedings and advising on financial claims within divorce.
image - Medical Negligence Medical Negligence - the firm is highly regarded by experts and clients for its clinical negligence work and has won many serious cases – notably securing in excess of £2 million for a client with cerebral palsy. Harding Evans is the only firm solely based in Gwent to have a legal aid franchise for clinical negligence work.
image - Personal Injury Personal Injury - our specialist personal injury team are experts in their field and deal with the full range of claims. We will deal with your claim professionally and efficiently.
image - Wills & Probate Wills and Probate - the department provides a comprehensive legal service for a growing private base.
image - Professional Negligence Professional Negligence - we have an excellent reputation in this area and undertake many cases including disputes against lawyers, vets, surveyors and other professionals.
image - Criminal Law Criminal Law - the team includes 5 duty solicitors and other lawyers who are available for advice and representation at police stations and courts throughout South Wales and the South West. The team has substantial expertise to deal with the range of problems that can arise in the criminal justice system.
